Personal Photography

In my Milan Cryptovoxel Gallery, I have some personal photography hidden away in the attic. Here are the gallery walls with some comments on each display.

European Beginnings

I was born and grew up in Scotland, where most of my family still stay to this day. I got my degree and PhD in Physics at the University of Glasgow, then had to head out into the world looking for a job.

I started as an engineer in a Fortune500 Company that had a base in Northern Ireland. For the next decade I lived in Derry, about an hour away from the Giants Causeway. My two kids were born there, as you can see, they were artistic from a young age.

Despite traveling all around the world, I love food from the homeland. Greasy fish and chips, Haggis, Chinese (UK version, not really Chinese at all) and Indian. Chicken curry, half and half is hard to beat.

In our youth, my wife and I travelled to Amsterdam many times. We enjoyed getting high and going on the all day bus tours. Queens day was a massive orange party that everyone should experience.

Living in America

I eventually gave in and transfered to the US 10+ years ago, moving here to accept a VP position with much better financials. My travel increased exponentially at this point visiting my teams and customers across US, Europe and Asia.

Got my two pups soon after moving to the US. They are not twins, but they are inseparable. I love taking them for pup cups and walks around the local state parks every weekend.

My daughter is a character. Here she was showing me how she had hurt her finger, in the middle of Target. As she grew up I had to take her to an anime convention that was eye opening.

I have travelled all around the US for work, mainly Colorado and California. We liked to get out of the tundra for Xmas vacations. We have been to Florida quite a few times; to Disneyland, Miami beach and Caribbean cruises.

Thailand Smiles

I travel to Thailand for work regularly, a month at a time. The land of smiles has become one of my favourite places to live. Recently I’ve been staying in the Thong Lor area along Sukhumvit road.

Thailand is the land of temples, everywhere you go there are temples. I enjoy the peaceful moments and giving gifts to the monk. The one photo of the monk hoovering in the Royal Palace makes me laugh.

There are many famous beaches and places to go snorkeling. I’ve been all around Thailand and to many of the islands. Bangkok is still my favourite, I love the 24/7 energy of the city.

Thai transport comes in all different forms … driving through floods, motorbike taxis and elephant tours on the islands.

My AI Adventures collection is based on my time in Thailand.

Asian Energy

I’ve travelled all around Asia with work … Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, China and some side visits along the way.

Singapore was on my quarterly circuit pre-Covid. I used to stay in the business area but it was all too sterile and colonial. I prefer to stay Orchard road with all the shopping and locals buzzing around … Xmas shopping at 30C is not Scottish. There are always lots of events going on.

I used to visit Hong Kong once a year. I think I’ve hit all the tourist places to visit on and off the Island. My fav was the really long cable car with the glass bottom that went to the Buddha on the mountain. The boat tour through old Hong Kong was always fun and the busy markets.

One time I visited X’ian … enjoyed looking around the city, super spicy hot pot and visiting the Terracotta Warriors.

My first few visits to South Korea were to Suwan to visit Samsung. Its was a bit too Korean for me, so I quickly moved to staying in Seoul and shuttling up there for work.

I got to know the Seoul train system pretty well to move around the city. Shopping in Myeong-dong and Dongdaemun was fun. They are the biggest and busiest shops I’ve ever experienced. Once I went to the fish market, live octopus and shellfish are not for me.

I spent a very memorable weekend in Cambodia. I flew there in a tiny prop plane and travelled around on the unique TukTuks. Angkor Wat was just amazing.

Cryptopunk #8845

Cryptopunk 8845 was my first ever NFT in Jan21 … lucky choice!

Cryptopunk #8845 was part of the Justin Aversano / SaveArtSpace project to put punks on billboards for the first Cryptopunk Christie’s auction on May 11th 2021.

I decided last minute that I had to go find my punk in the wild. Flew into NYC, got a Lyft to drive around Brooklyn to find my punk. After driving around for 90 minutes I found the billboard ….. It had a fucking Chicken McSandwich on it!!!!

Later that evening, Justin and I laughed about it … “The Ultimate Rug”.

A week or so later I got the photo of my punk. Not allowed his cigarette, but kept his smoke 😊
